Allow me to introduce you to my latest love . . .

Turmeric and Ginger Spiced Almond Butter ❤❤❤

Just when I thought my nut butter obsession couldn’t get any bigger this happens . . .

You guys . . .

This right here is like the superhero, golden child of the almond butter world!

Not only is it insanely, and I mean I N S A N E L Y, delicious (think subtly sweet, velvety smooth, deliciously buttery and perfectly spiced with a gentle heart and belly warming hum of cinnamon and ginger) but, it’s also packs a serious and I mean S E R I O U S, nutritional punch thanks to the addition of our tantalizing, super food ingredient, turmeric.

I know, I know what you’re thinking . . . turmeric in almond butter  . . . Em, is that really necessary?!

I say, YES!!!!

Ok maybe it’s not totally necessary but, I guarantee that it is all kinds of delicious, seriously nutritious – one taste and you will be fully on board.

Trust me.

Have I ever steered you wrong?!

I wouldn’t do such a thing. Only the best of the best for my sweet, internet BFF (that’s you 😘 )

I honestly believe that this turmeric and ginger spiced, almond butter that we’re making today really is the best of the best.

I hate to toot my own horn but I really think I may have out done myself with this latest nut butter creation . . . it’s definitely next level! An absolute game changer. (toot, toot)

Plus, did you know that turmeric is rich in antioxidants, it’s a natural anti-inflammatory, it’s great for digestion and heart health, will help stabilize blood sugar, lower your risk of diabetes, improve brain function and boost your immunity!  💛💛💛

Just in case you need an excuses to eat more nut butter . . . all in the name of good health, I got you covered 😘😘😘

For those of you who are concerned that this super hero, super spread may have a weird/funky, taste I assure you the turmeric goes completely undetected.

Apart from the coloring . . .

I’ll admit, it does have an “interesting” glow about it but, personally I kinda dig the 80’s, retro, neon, golden hue. Don’t you?!

Regardless of how you feel about it’s appearance, one taste and you will be head over heels in love with this all natural, anti-inflammatory, super-charged, super-hero, super-spread I just know it!

The addition of cinnamon and ginger adds a magical touch of perfectly spiced sweetness that marries so beautifully with our buttery almonds. It kinds of tastes like Christmas in a cup which is all kinds of awesome if you ask me.

I don’t know what it is, but there is something incredibly comforting about that combination of spices that warms me to the depths of my soul.

Would you just look at those pretty little flecks of vanilla bean and cinnamon 😍😍😍

Ahhhh I just love it so much!!!

Honestly, I don’t know what else to say apart from please, please, puh-lease can you stop what you’re doing and go make it already?!

As always our healthy, homemade almond butter is made with no refined flours or sugars, using just a handful of ingredients that I bet you have on hand already.

No weird additives or unpronounceable ingredients – just almonds, vanilla, a sprinkling of heart warming spices and cheeky pinch of salt is all you need! ❤❤❤

And, once you’ve roasted those golden delicious, nutrient rich almonds you’re divine little jar of edible awesomeness comes together in a matter of minutes!

Oh and FYI – this pretty little jar of turmeric and ginger spiced almond butter also happens to be naturally vegan, gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, keto, paleo friendly and 100 % whole30 compliant but, most importantly, it’s seriously delicious and you need it in your life, ASAP!

All natural, thick and creamy, subtly sweet, perfectly spiced, healthy, homemade, gloriously golden, turmeric and ginger spiced almond butter . . .

One taste of this super-charged, super-food, super-spread and life as you know it will be changed forever!

Make it. Eat it. Love, love, love it.

Turmeric and Ginger Spiced Almond Butter
{Vegan, Gluten Free & Paleo Friendly}

Makes approx 1 3/4 cups All natural, quick and easy, creamy, dreamy, velvety smooth, subtly sweet, perfectly spiced, gloriously golden, healthy, homemade, turmeric and ginger spiced almond butter

Ingredients –

2  cup of raw almonds

1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract or 10-12 drops of Vanilla Cream Stevia – I use Sweet Leaf Stevia

1 teaspoon of ground turmeric

1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon of ginger

1/2 teaspoon of salt flakes

1/8 teaspoon of ground black pepper – this is important as the chemical compound in the black pepper is what helps and enables the body to absorb all of those incredible nutrients in the turmeric! You can’t taste the pepper, promise.

1 scoop of vital proteins collagen peptides – optional

Method –

1 – Preheat your oven to 175’C (350’F)

2 – Line a large baking sheet with baking/parchment paper (or a non stick silpat mat) then add your almonds making sure they are spread evenly – aka not crowded.

3 – Roast your nuts for 7-10 minutes, until gloriously golden, deliciously fragrant and lightly toasted.

4 – Pour your golden, delicious roasted almonds into the bowl of your food processor or blender, add salt and process until smooth and creamy (or your desired consistency). Initially the almonds would grind down into a powder, give it a minute or two and the oils will extract and it will become deliciously, thick, rich and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally.

5 – Once you have blended to your desired consistency add the vanilla and remainig spices and process until well combined.

Note – If you prefer a thinner/runnier nut butters feel free to add a drizzle of coconut oil (1 tablespoon at a time) to reach desired consistency.

7 – Store in an airtight container in the fridge. It should keep well for up to 2 weeks – but I highly doubt it will last that long! (← seriously, good luck with that 😉 )

Enjoy xoxo

Just act like you didn’t see it coming . . .

I mean it is my birthday month after all which gives me just the excuse I needed (as if I really need one?!) to make a brand new, insanely delicious, seriously indulgent, yet secretly healthy, nut butter obsession to share with you.

And ummmmmm this right here . . .

This little jar of heaven aka – chocolate pistachio almond butter . . .

It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

It’s decadent and rich, subtly sweet, velvety smooth, seriously creamy, deliciously indulgent and simply divine.

Something about the subtle, slightly savory, flavor profile of those pretty little oven roasted pistachio’s combined with our buttery almonds, a sweet splash of vanilla, the decadent, richness of our cacao and that cheeky pinch of salt . . .

I mean, I thought the original, salted pistachio almond butter we made was all kinds of awesome (which it really, REALLY is!) but, this chocolate version is next level!

I think we can all agree that a touch of chocolate just makes everything better, am I right?!

Oh you know I am!

And this right here, this chocolate pistachio almond butter we’re making . . . is in a world of it’s own!

It’s thick and creamy, deliciously buttery, subtly sweet, seriously chocolatey, lightly salted and well, like you,  all kinds of incredible!

Honestly, I don’t know what else to tell you . . .

Ahhhhh I’m just so excited for you to try it because I know you are going to just love, love, love it!

It’s chocolate and nut butter, two of my greatest loves combined, what’s not to love?!

Just look at it?!

Heaven in a jar I tell you!! 😍😍😍

No words needed!

As always our healthy, homemade almond butter is made with no refined flours or sugars, using just a handful of real food ingredients that I bet you have on hand already.

No weird preservatives, additives, fillers, hidden sugars or unpronounceable ingredients here people –  just almonds, pistachios, vanilla, cacao, a cheeky pinch of salt and a little bit of love is all you need! ❤❤❤

5 ingredients, 10 minutes in the making = deliciously winning on soooo many levels! 🎉🎉🎉

I don’t know about you but I can’t think of a better way to spend my birthday (or any day for that matter) than by diving head first into this jar of deliciousness and eating my way out.

Who am I kidding, birthday or not that sounds like an absolute dream!

All natural, quick and easy, velvety smooth, creamy, dreamy, decadent and rich, subtly sweet, deliciously indulgent, lightly salted, seriously chocolatey, healthy, homemade chocolate pistachio almond butter . . .

Make it. Eat it. Love, love, love it.

Last week we did legs so today I’m thinking this weeks it’s time to work those shoulders and arms, what do you say, are you in?!

Ok good, because today I’m sharing a short, sharp, upper body workout that you can get in and get done in around 20 minutes!

✳8 exercises
✳8 each
♻x 3 rounds
✳Boomshakalocka, done 👊🏻

Workout Time - www.betterwithcake.com

Here’s what we are going to do –

8 exercises –  Bent over rows – Upright rows – Front Raise – Lateral Raise – Reverse Fly’s – Tricep Kickbacks – Bicep Curls &  Overhead Press.

We will do 8 reps of exercise and repeat the entire sequence through for a total of 3 rounds, sound good?

Nothing overly complicated, basic movements done with good form for a short but effective upper body workout.

I should warn you though, just because you’re workout is short doesn’t mean it’s not effective, believe me when I say by the final round you will be feeling a nice little fire burning in those beautiful biceps (hence the name – “inferno” ) and um . . . FYI –

The Struggle is real - www.betterwithcake.co,

The struggle is so real!

That being said, I guarantee after this workout you will be feeling refreshed and energized ready to take on the rest of your day!

Now, I’m not allocating any specific rest breaks in today’s workout but I want you to listen to that beautiful body of yours and rest as needed.

Anytime you feel like you need to take a break to catch your breath and grab a little drink then by all means please do so, and take all the time you need. However, if possible try to wait until you get to the bottom of each round to do so but, do what you gotta do, OK?!

Catch your breath, grab a drink then get straight back into it, deal?

Grab yourself a weapon of choice – I suggest using either a dumbbell or kettlebell, but resistance bands or a combination would work if you like. Just make sure you choose something appropriate for your strength but, don’t be afraid to challenge yourself.

I want you to really push yourself, the final rep of each exercise should be a challenge!

Although, we want quality not quantity, always! Never compromise your form, ever! If your form starts to fail your done, got it?

Take your time, concentrate, focus and breathe through each and every exercise. You are strong, you are amazing, you have big energy! You’ve totally got this!

You Can Do It! - www.betterwithcake.com

And because nothing makes a workout challenge more fun than getting a buddy to join you. Why not grab your BFF or a family member or your fave workmate and have them join you, power in numbers baby!

Don’t forget to come back and let me know how you did once you’re done. Either leave me a message in the comments below, or you can give me a shout on the Facebook page or tag me (@EmSwanston) on Twitter , or Instagram (@emsswanston) . I mean it, I wanna hear how you did!

Ok enough chit chat time to work –

20 Minute Upper Body Inferno

As always make sure you are nice an warm before you start your workout – Run on the spot, do jumping jacks, jump rope, dance around your living room, anything to get you warm then it’s time to get serious.

Finish with a nice little cool down and stretch, maybe take a walk or something anything to help bring your heart rate down. Finish with a few of your fave stretches. Please don’t skip the stretch people, its like dessert for the body.

Now onto our bonus smoothie recipe . . .

It’s so important to nourish and re-energize your body post workout, you want to make sure you give those muscles some fuel so that they can rebuild and repair themselves after working so hard.

How does a nice tall, decedent, rich, subtly sweet, deliciously indulgent, creamy, dreamy, secretly healthy, seriously chocolatey, ginger spiced smoothie sound?

The combination of creamy dreamy coconut yogurt, decadent rich cacao, a splash of vanilla, a pinch of cinnamon and a gentle, belly warming hum of ginger just marries so perfectly together I know you’re going to absolutely love it!

Not only does it tastes all kinds of delicious but it’s also bursting with nutritional value thanks to our cacao, coconut, cinnamon and ginger. This bad boy is rich in antioxidants, is a natural anti-inflammatory, it will help to aid digestion, boost immunity and your metabolism (aka – aid in weight loss) and so much more! Hence the name ginger ninja – it’s dark, delicious and a sneaky little nutritional powerhouse!

Oh and I should probably mention that not only does our decadent and rich, creamy, dreamy, seriously chocolatey, perfectly spiced smoothie taste like an absolute dream but, it also happens to be vegan, dairy free and paleo friendly!!!

If you’re looking for an all natural, deliciously simple, decadent, rich, creamy, dreamy, velvety smooth, seriously chocolaty, perfectly spiced, secretly healthy treat that’s decadent enough to be enjoyed as a cheeky little, late night indulgence, yet healthy enough to serve for breakfast then look no further my friend, I have just what you need.

Chocolate chai spiced chia pudding!!!!!

Try saying that 10 times fast?!

I don’t know if it’s because the weather is getting cooler as we head into winter here in Sydney but, for some reason I find myself seriously craving all things chai!

I just can’t seem to get enough.

So in an attempt to satisfy my never ending craving for chai (and chocolate) I thought I would make myself a delicious little pudding cup.

Because who doesn’t love a good pudding cup (and chocolate) am I right?!

And, ummmm, you guys . . .

Best idea, ever!

This chocolate chai spiced chia pudding is seriously, incredible!

It’s decadent, rich, subtly sweet, deliciously indulgent and seriously chocolatey with the perfect hum of chai inspired spices.

So, SO good!

And, you know what makes it even better?!

The fact that it also happens to be seriously (and I mean S E R I O U S L Y ) good for you!

It’s made with no refined flours or sugars, sweetened naturally with just a splash of vanilla and those chai inspired spices.

Also, because I’ve used coconut yogurt and vanilla almond milk in our base it also happens to be 100% dairy free, vegan, gluten free and paleo friendly!

And then there’s all those incredible health benefits that those cheeky little chia seeds bring to the party – It’s rich in antioxidants, packed with protein, high in calcium, fiber, magnesium and those all important omega 3’s!

Super-food say whaaaaatttt?!

So much to love I tell you and love it you will!

This pudding would make the perfect little, deliciously indulgent, late night dessert but, it’s also light enough to enjoy for breakfast especially if you serve it with some coconut yogurt, a sprinkling of this cranberry and coconut {grain free} granola and a giant vat cup of coffee, of course.

Chocolate pudding for breakfast = winning!!!

It also makes a killer post workout (or anytime) snack.

I mean would you just look at it?!

Swoon!!

Those of you who have been following along for a while now may recall that I have some weird, texture issues with straight up chia pudding. Same goes for porridge/oatmeal.  As much as I want to, I just can’t do it which is why I always end up blending it. That way it gets thick, creamy, velvety smooth and all kinds of delicious! Texture issues be gone baby!

So, if you don’t have the same texture issues that I do you can go ahead and skip the blending stage. It’s totally up to you, 100% your call. Blending it doesn’t change the flavor of our pudding so go ahead and do what you feel, just promise me you’ll make it, and soon, OK?!

All natural, quick and easy, creamy, dreamy, velvety smooth, decadent and rich, seriously chocolaty, perfectly spiced, secretly healthy chocolate chai spiced chia pudding . . .

Make it. Eat it. Love, love, love it.

Chocolate Chai Spiced Chia Pudding
{Vegan, Dairy Free & Paleo Friendly
Makes approx 2 serves of all natural, thick and creamy, decadent, rich, velvety smooth,  seriously chocolatey, secretly healthy, perfectly spiced chia pudding

Ingredients –

1/4 cup of coconut yogurt (or Greek style yogurt)

1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or milk of choice)

3 Tablespoons of  chia seeds

1 Tablespoon of cacao

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or 4-6 drops of Vanilla Cream Stevia – I use Sweet Leaf Stevia

1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1 pinch of nutmeg –  I used 1/2 of my 1/8th teaspoon

1 pinch of cardamom –  I used 1/2 of my 1/8th teaspoon

1 pinch of cloves –  I used 1/2 of my 1/8th teaspoon

1/4 teaspoon of espresso – optional

A pinch of salt

Optional but recommended for serving;

1 teaspoon of shredded dark chocolate  (or cacao nibs)

Coconut yogurt (or yogurt of choice)

Chia seeds

Method –

1 – Place all pudding ingredients into a small bowl or jug and stir to combine.

2 – Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, (or overnight). Make sure you go and give it a little stir every now and again to remove any lumps and just to make sure those cheeky little chia seeds haven’t settled at the bottom of the bowl.

3 – Once your pudding is nice and thick, place the mixture into your food processor or blender and process until smooth and creamy. If you don’t have texture issues like me you can skip this step and simply stir and serve as is.

Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary, you could add a little maple syrup, honey or some extra stevia/vanilla if you like your pudding on the sweeter side.

4 – Pour your pudding mixture into cute little cups or bowls and place it back in the fridge for at least 30 minutes chill and re-set before serving (it gets a little warm and the consistency thins out with the friction created while blending).

6 – To serve, top with coconut yogurt (or yogurt of choice),if using, sprinkle with chocolate (or cacao nibs) and some extra cheeky chia seeds if desired.

Enjoy xoxo

Alright party people, it’s that time again, time for another round of fit Friday fun, are you ready?!

Last week we worked on sculpting our shoulders so today I thought we would have ourselves a  short, sharp lower body workout that you can get in and get done in just 20 minutes what do you say, are you up for it?

Nothing complicated, basic movements done with good form for a short but effective lower body workout that will leave you feeling strong, energized and ready to take on the rest of your day.

Workout Time - www.betterwithcake.com

So, here’s what we are going to do –

4 exercises – Step Ups – Reverse Lunges – Squats and Squat Jumps – we will do 8-10 reps of each exercise (for step ups and lunges count reps per leg) and repeat the entire sequence through for a total of 4 rounds, sound good?

Now, I’m not allocating any specific rest breaks in today’s workout, the aim is to move from one exercise to the next with minimal/no rest in between  but that does not mean you don’t take any rest.

I want you to listen to that beautiful body of yours and anytime you feel like you need to take a break to catch your breath and grab a little drink then by all means please do so, and take all the time you need. However, if possible try to wait until you get to the bottom of each round to do so but, do what you gotta do, OK?!

If you feel like you need to stop, grab a drink and catch your breath, by all means do so, take all the time you need,  then get straight back into it and repeat for a total of 4 rounds, deal?

Now, for those of you are just starting out or are new to lifting feel free to do this workout without any added weight, believe me when I say just because you’re “only” using your body-weight as resistance doesn’t not make this an easy workout.

Your quads and glutes will be burning by the final round and you will definitely be feeling the effects of it tomorrow I assure you.

For our more experienced lifters, grab yourself a weapon of choice – a set of dumbbells, a barbell, kettlebells, some resistance bands or any combination you like. Make sure you choose something appropriate for your strength but, don’t be afraid to challenge yourself.

20 minute {No Equipment}
Lower Body Workout

As always make sure you are nice an warm before you start your workout – Run on the spot, do jumping jacks, jump rope, dance around your living room, anything to get you warm then it’s time to get serious.

Finish with a nice little cool down and stretch, maybe take a walk or something anything to help bring your heart rate down. Finish with a few of your fave stretches. Please don’t skip the stretch people, its like dessert for the body.

Now for our bonus smoothie recipe . . .

How does a nice tall, subtly sweet, deliciously nutty, creamy, dreamy, maple-pecan banana smoothie sound?

Don’t let it’s humble, beige appearance fool you, this smoothie tastes like an absolute dream!

Tart tangy coconut yogurt is combined with a creamy, dreamy, frozen banana, a heaping spoonful of our healthy, homemade, maple-pecan almond butter, a splash of vanilla, a drizzle of maple syrup. 😋❤👌🏼

I know it may not sound (or look) like much but believe me, this maple-pecan banana smoothie is so blissfully delicious, one sip will immediately transport you to cloud 9!

It’s subtly sweet, deliciously nutty, seriously creamy and simply divine!

FYI – this tall glass of deliciousness also happens to be packed with protein, heart healthy fats and slow release, low GI carbs which will help to refuel and re-energize that beautiful body of yours.

It really is insanely delicious, the perfect way to treat yo’ self on this fabulous Friday.

Oh and I should probably mention that not only does our deliciously simple, maple-pecan banana bliss smoothie taste like heaven in a cup, it also happens to be vegan, dairy free and paleo friendly – so much to love I tell you ❤❤❤

Allow me to introduce you to your new favorite snack . . .

All natural, quick and easy, soft, chewy, crisp, crunchy, subtly sweet, seriously addicting lemon berry bliss bites 😍😍😍

Are bliss bites still a thing?

Please tell me they’re still a thing?

Or are they so not cool anymore and, once again, I missed the memo?!

I missed it didn’t I?!

I’m so not cool.

But, if that’s the case and my beloved bliss/energy bites are no longer considered “cool” I have a feeling they are about to make an epic come back because, you guys . . . these lemon berry bliss bites are insanely good.

Buttery cashews are combined with deliciously chewy, magical medjool dates then infused with sweet strawberries and a hint of light, fresh, zesty lemon.

The slight tartness of those freeze dried strawberries and the freshness of our lemon zest cuts through the natural sweetness of those magical medjool dates making these beautiful little bliss bites light, fresh, subtly sweet and simply divine!!

Seriously so good!

I don’t know what it is but, this time of year I always find myself craving citrus-y things.

Last year it was lemon and coconut bliss bites, the year before that it was lemon and chia muffins and this year it’s lemon berry bliss bites?!

Maybe it has something to do with the change of season or, maybe it’s my body craving some light, fresh, cleansing flavors after the deliciously indulgent, chocolate/treat filled festivities aka Easter?! #iregretnothing

Whatever the reason I’m just going to go with it because you guys, these lemon berry bliss bites are a light, fresh, edible bite of heaven and you need them in your life, asap!

As always our beloved bliss bites are all natural made with just a handful of ingredients that I bet you have on hand already.

They are naturally vegan, gluten free and paleo friendly and come together in a matter of minutes!

Simply throw your ingredients into your food processor or blender and you’re pretty much done!

Once your light, fresh, buttery, sweet, pretty pink, lemon infused bliss bite “dough” is ready, all that’s left to do is roll them into deliciously, pop-able bite size pieces and voila’, done!

Now, although they are all kinds of delicious enjoyed simply as they are in all their freshly rolled glory, if you have can spare a few extra minutes and you feel like getting a little fancy then you might want to go ahead and crumble up a handful of freeze dried strawberries into a fine looking powder, and while you’re at it, pop some finely shredded coconut into a bowl then . . .

roll some of those blissfully delicious, pretty hued, lemon scented beauties in a little of each.

It’s totally not necessary but I think it’s worth the extra time and effort because the contrast in both flavor and texture kind of takes these lemon berry bliss bites to the next level.

Crisp and crunchy, subtly sweet, freeze dried strawberries or coconut flakes on the outside, blissfully soft, deliciously chewy, light, fresh, zesty lemon scented deliciousness on the inside;

The perfect anytime treat!

All natural, quick and easy, soft, chewy, crisp, crunchy, subtly sweet, vibrant, delicious, seriously addicting lemon berry bliss bites

Make them. Eat them. Love, love, love them.

Lemon Berry Bliss Bites
{Vegan, Gluten Free & Paleo Friendly}

Makes approx 24* all natural, quick and easy, subtly sweet, soft and chewy, zesty, lemony blissful bites of berry infused deliciousness.

Ingredients –

1 cup cashews (I used raw, unsalted)

6 large medjool dates, pits removed

1/2 cup of freeze dried strawberries

1 teaspoon of vanilla (or 4-6 drops of vanilla cream stevia – I like to use Sweet Leaf Stevia )

1 Tablespoon of lemon juice (or 1 teaspoon of lemon extract or a few drops of lemon oil)

1 teaspoon of freshly grated 1 lemon zest

a generous pinch of salt flakes

1-2 scoops of Vital proteins unflavored collagen peptides – optional for an extra dose of protein and gut healing goodness

Optional for serving –

1/4 cup of finely shredded coconut for coating.

1/4 cup of freeze dried strawberries crumbled into a fine powder

Method –

Before you get started – If your dates are a little dry, I suggest you pop them into a small bowl or jug and pour over enough boiling water so they are completely submerged. Set aside for 5 minutes while you get your food processor out and gather up the rest of your ingredients and then when your ready simply pour out the water and proceed with the recipe as normal.

1 – Place cashews in your food processor/blender and pulse until it resembles a fine crumb, you want there to still be a few bigger chunks to give the bites some nice texture.

2 – Add dates, vanilla, lemon juice, zest and salt then process until the mixture starts to come together into a sticky “dough”.

3 – Add your freeze dried strawberries and process until combined.

4 – Using your hands, roll approx 1 Tablespoon of dough into little bite size balls then set aside.

I feel like I should mention that when I make my bliss bites I tend to make them way smaller than the ones you see in stores or cafes. I prefer to make them on the smaller side because I like being able to just pop one in my mouth on the down low so I don’t have to share I can go about my business. I would say you would probably need 3 of my bliss bites to make up the size of one of those store bought/cafe/golf ball size bites. Feel free make them whatever size that tickles your fancy, just wanted to put that out there 🙂

For the optional coating;

5 – Place your coconut and strawberry powder each into a separate plate or bowl (or even just a zip lock bag) then roll/toss your bliss bites through the either the coconut or strawberry powder until they have a nice light, even coating and set aside. Repeat until all bites are coated.

5 – Once your bites have their delicious little coconut or pretty pink strawberry powder  coats on, transfer to your mouth an airtight container (or even just a ziplock bag) and store in the fridge

Enjoy xo

So, Ima keep this short and sweet for you today because;

1 – I have been trying to write this post for close to a week now and every time I go to get started something comes up to pull me away ( #momlife ) so I’m afraid if I don’t just get in and just get it done that may happen again

2 – I don’t really have anything fun or exciting to tell you other than the fact that I made this bonkers delicious, healthy, homemade mocha chai spiced almond butter and you need it in your life like, yesterday!

So . . .

Deliciously simple, decadent, rich, healthy, homemade mocha chia spiced almond butter . . .

You guys . . .

So much deliciousness your pretty little head may just explode!!!!

Gloriously golden, nutrient rich almonds are oven roasted then blended with a splash of vanilla, a cheeky pinch of salt, a combination of chai inspired spices (think cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and cloves) , a sprinkling of cacao and a gentle hum espresso.

I know I say it about all the nut butters that we make but you guys . . . this mocha chai spiced almond butter is so insanely delicious that one taste and life as you know it will be changed forever!

The subtle sweetness of vanilla combined with those creamy, dreamy, buttery almonds, that  heart warming hum of chai inspired spices, the decadent, richness of the cacao and that gentle hum of espresso . . .

You guys . . . I can’t even . . .

It’s decadent and rich, subtly sweet, deliciously indulgent, seriously chocolaty and simply divine!

For the coffee haters out there;

1 – Tell me again why we’re friends?! Just kidding, kinda, you know I love you 😘😘😘

2 – Please don’t be put of by the fact that this almond butter has espresso in it. I personally don’t think it has a strong coffee flavor (although you could certainly ramp things up if you wanted) the coffee seems to just enhance the richness of the chocolate more than anything.

Trust me, that leetle touch of espresso brings an element of depth and richness to this little jar of heaven that takes our latest batch of healthy, homemade almond butter to a whole new level!

Seriously, just trust me on this, I would never steer you wrong. ❤❤❤

As always our healthy, homemade mocha chai spiced almond butter is made with no refined flours or sugars, using just a handful of real food ingredients that I bet you have on hand already.

And, once you’ve roasted those golden delicious, nutrient rich almonds you’re divine little jar of perfectly spiced, espresso infused, deliciously indulgent, healthy, homemade almond butter comes together in a matter of minutes!

It also happens to be vegan, gluten free dairy free and paleo friendly but, most importantly, it’s insanely (and I mean I-N-S-A-N-E-L-Y) delicious and you need it in your life asap!

Once you have your little jar of creamy, dreamy, perfectly spiced, espresso infused, chai spiced almond butter ready and waiting in your hot little hand, go ahead and use it as you would, business as usual – dive head first into the jar and eat your way out . . .

or you be a little more refined and get yourself a spoon . . .

do what you feel, no judgement here 😘😘😘

And I’m not saying that you have to but, I you know I strongly, STRONGLY insist suggest that you do . . . grab yourself a big ol’ block chunk of your fave dark chocolate then add a heaping spoonful of your deliciously indulgent, perfectly spiced, espresso infused, creamy, dreamy, mocha chai inspired almond butter . . .

And lose yourself in the deliciousness that you just created.

All natural, quick and easy, thick and creamy, subtly sweet, seriously chocolaty, decadent, rich, deliciously indulgent, espresso infused, perfectly spiced, healthy, homemade mocha chai spiced, almond butter . . .

1/2 teaspoon of salt flakes

Method –

1 – Preheat your oven to 175’C (350’F)

2 – Line a large baking sheet with baking/parchment paper (or a non stick silpat mat) and pour on your almonds, making sure they are spread evenly – aka not crowded.

3 – Roast your almonds for 10 minutes, until lightly toasted and deliciously golden.

4 – Pour your roasted almonds into the bowl of your food processor or blender and process until smooth and creamy (or your desired consistency). Initially the almonds wil grind down into a powder, give it a minute or two and the oils will extract and it will become deliciously, thick, rich and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally.

5 – Once you have blended to your desired consistency, add your vanilla, cacao, espresso, salt and spices then process until well combined.

6 – Taste and adjust seasoning accordingly – add a little extra salt or more vanilla/cinnamon/spices if you feel the need and, if you prefer a thinner/more runny consistency feel free to add a drizzle of coconut oil to thin it out.

7 – Store in an airtight container in the fridge. It should keep well for up to 2 weeks – if it lasts that long! (← seriously, good luck with that 😉 )

Enjoy xoxo
